The movie got 71 on metascore and 86 on Rotten Tomato, yep I’ll post my score as soon as I watched it with my short review.
Btw the first movie got 72 and 87 on metascore and RT, so hmm…. if u have to be mean, u could say “Nah, worse than last one because one score less than the first one”. Don’t say I taught u this!

The new Fantastic Beasts movie finally released last weekends. For two years waiting, fans of this magic world finally can see the latest story of Newt.
Like the first film, the film has superb visual effects, especially in the IMAX3D, the jump effect is amazing, let the audience feel in the magic world.
As a work of the big world view, this film incorporates more characters, and each has its own separate story line, but the obvious shortcoming is that Rowling is only good at showing different people’s stories in books. However, in the movie, the story cannot be well balanced, and the story cannot be smoothly switched between the stories. Even the same story line cannot be smoothly told. Frequent jump cut in the film have greatly discounted the entire story. Additionally, the big world view, many roles, it is difficult to explain the identity of every characters, but the film does not seem to care, perhaps because the audience of the film is mainly fans, so it is not necessary.
The good thing is that the film is still the same as the first one, the first-class clothing design, so fabulous. At the same time, as a writer’s Rowling, how to leave a suspense is her magic weapon, the final big surprise of the film is really amazing.

Although the writer who created the wuxia left, the spirit of “Xia(侠,heroic)” stay in every reader’s deep heart. I believe this also is Jin Yong’s wish. Leaving the true spirit of his work to the world as the biggest treasure to the world.

Just in these few months, so many legendary artists passed by. Jin Yong, the one who created the Chinese martial arts world, also is a great loss to the world.

As a historical feature film, it is important to choose the right part from the whole story. Robert The Bruce has a lot of stories to tell in his life. It is certain that if a film wants to tell his story, it must talk about he leads Scottish independence. But from which time frame of his life to start telling his story is the main question should be considered.
The producer chose to start from 1299 is a good choice. The story will not make the film out of focus because of the failure of the previous war, but also succinctly explain the background of the story.
However, the story still too big and long to tell which make the audience feel that the movie is incomprehensible.
The director’s love for the blood battle scene has made the film has great part description of blood and sword.
And at last feeling so excited when I found out I am studying at the this film set. This film set few scene in University of Glasgow and use the Glasgow Cathedral as well.
Story been told in a weird way? Or I should say that “what a mess”? Actors give their best performance in this movie wit no doubt.
However director seems still don’t know how to tell a good story after making so many X-men movie.
After all, the whole movie is rescued by Queen’s songs. 7 scores all for Queen, this legendary band and their legend.
In my eyes, this is the best picture of the year(so far), 70mm make this movie full of the sense of the times, making audiences feeling like watching a real documentary but not.
The whole movie, 2h21min was the best time I had this year in a cinema. Ryan keep his high quality performance no doubt so does Claire.
Anyway, please go watch this and please go to a IMAX cinema, if you could find a non-digital IMAX cinema would be even better.
We don’t need to criticize Rowan’s performance. He is a pro, always perfect performance, great comedy actor. However the producers of this movie should be criticized really hard.
If u don’t have a new story to tell, then don’t make the third movie. The whole story is totally similar as before, making audiences feel sick of it. I rated this movie 6, for anything except the story and visual effect.
Oh btw, the visual effect, especially the castle and submarine at end of the movie , so terrible. I mean, come on! It’s 21 century!
Contemporary discrimination of blacks and their cruel reality is finally being treated in Hollywood
The aside at the beginning of the film was too long, and the deliberate depiction of the shoes in the film slowed down the rhythm of the first 15 minutes of the film.
The King line exists in the film is a big BUG, not enough to become the main factor hindering the heroine to be quiet.
The overall film has a tight rhythm, except for the first 15 minutes, which is a step-by-step demonstration the the heroine’s journey of turning into a rebellion, after seeing the friend after being shot by the police.
I truly believe after some modifies, this could be a good Oscar movie.
